As AEC marketing professionals, we are constantly trying to figure out how to help our firm & people stand out when trying to win work. Giving presentations is part of how the firms in our industry win work & we simply must be good at it. I am a seasoned marketing & business development professional with 30 years in the design & construction industry, specializing in managing marketing & business development teams. My focus on professional services marketing has empowered me to assist engineers, architects, & construction professionals in expressing their talents through written proposals, relationship building, client relations, & interview coaching. I have given dozens of talks to industry organizations on most marketing & business development topics over my career. Most recently, in 2018, I presented "Business Development & Networking 101" at Sanborn Head & Associates (multiple times), providing insights into effective networking strategies. In 2019 I conducted a 2-day Presentation Skills Workshop for Lamoureux Pagano Architects, delving into the art of impactful communication. Transitioning to virtual platforms in 2020, I addressed the Copyright Clearance Center in Danvers, MA, on "Time Management Skills," showcasing the importance of effective time utilization during Covid. I also presented to the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Boston mentorship class in 2021, on "Presenting Tips 101," offering insights into effective virtual presentations. Back in person in 2022, I presented four classes at BSC Group, two on "Powerful Presentations" & 2 on “Winning Shortlist Proposals”. Previously this year I presented my “Powerful Presentation” seminar at the SMPS SERC in North Carolina to a full room (standing room only). I have also spoken in years past at the SMPS National Conferences & Build Boston/ABX (multiple times). In October of this year, I also spoke on a panel to the SMPS Boston Chapter on ‘Networking 101’. My industry experience & involvement at committee & board levels in industry firms has equipped me with the skills to provide impactful trainings on many marketing & BD topics, specifically Presentation Skills since it is an area where our assistance is always needed.
