Meet the Planning Committee

Volunteers from each of the participating chapters have been hard at work to put together the best conference experience that you’ve ever had. They’re working to ensure that every aspect of the conference has been thoughtfully curated to maximize your experience. Meet the team and read about the one thing they would bring if they were shipwrecked on an island:

Organizing Committee

  • Suzanne King, CPSM

    Conference Co-Director

Marketing Manager at D'Agostino Izzo Quirk Architects, Inc.

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: I'd want to have my backpack (or giant purse), stuffed with my iPad & chargers, fully charged portable battery, wind-up watch, a notebook, pens, a book, daily planner, toiletry bag, two lip balms, sunglasses, sunscreen, baseball cap, 2 water bottles, LifeStraw Personal Water Filtration stick, snacks, gum, a swimsuit, a change of undergarments, allergy medicine, first aid and portable sewing kits.

  • Kristi Reichard, CPSM

    Conference Co-Director

Marketing Manager at A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc.

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: At the time I was asked, I WAS on an island, wishing I had packed my kitchen scale (in order to bake a cake from a recipe with ingredients in grams). The island wasn’t deserted, but I was going for dessert-ed.

  • Matt Kaufman, CPSM

    Treasurer

Marketing Director at Atlantic Engineering Services

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: A volleyball with whom I would look forward to building a lasting, mutually-supportive relationship with, who would encourage me during such a trying time. Name recommendations for my hypothetical future friend are welcome!

Programs Committee

  • Matt Hawk

    Programs Co-Chair

    Campaign Manager at Stantec

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: Patience.

  • Beth Harrison, MBA, CPSM

    Programs Co-Chair

Marketing Director at APD Architecture & Engineering

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: The Libby App!

Sponsorship Committee

  • Chuck Raymond, CPSM

    Sponsorship (Mid-Region) Co-Chair

Publications & Press Manager at Weston & Sampson

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: My iPhone. Not only could I call for help (yes, there's a cell tower there - it's fiction, right?), but I could also have my solitaire and crossword puzzle apps. PLUS - as a last ditch effort if the cell tower were to collapse, I could use reflections off the screen to signal rescue planes and boats.

  • Cathy Vittorio, CPSM

    Sponsorship (Southern Region) Co-Chair

Associate, Business Line Manager at Fuss & O’Neill

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: After watching way too many reality shows where contestants can never catch anything to eat, I’d take fishing nets that can be used in the water and to trap birds, small mammals, etc.

Communications Committee

  • Helen Kashtan

    Communications Co-Chair

Marketing Manager at Pathfinder Engineers & Architects

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: The Professor, Mary Anne, and Ginger….if I want to stay on the island.

  • Shelly Peckham

    Communications Co-Chair

Marketing & Communications Strategist at SP Strategic Marketing

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: Sunblock!

  • Katie Lund

    Communications Co-Chair

    SMPS Maryland Past President

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: Jane Austen novels!

  • Brittany Sampson

    Graphics Chair

    Marketing Coordinator at Erland Construction

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: Solar-powered AM/FM radio…music for my sanity.

Registration Committee

  • Hilary Nieukirk, CPSM

    Registration Co-Chair

Senior Marketing Manager at Shawmut Design and Construction

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: A comically large hat to shade myself.

  • Kristen Troxell

    Registration Co-Chair

Marketing Manager at Benchmark Construction Company, Inc.

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: A beach towel or chair. Pretty generic but I never get to sit on the beach and enjoy the views and sounds of the waves. Now I'm busy running after my 2 boys at the beach.

Logistics Committee

  • Kathleen Held, CPSM

    Logistics Co-Chair

CEO & President at Cini-Little International, Inc.

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: A Genie in a Bottle to Grant me 3 wishes...poof my island is going to become a lavish resort.

  • Pia Cardinali, CPSM

    Logistics Co-Chair

Marketing Lead at Arcadis | IBI Placemaking

One item you would bring if shipwrecked on an island: A well-equipped yacht with full staff, galley and navigation equipment to arrive immediately upon my shipwreck, ready and waiting to take me back home once I've finished swimming, exploring, and resting.
